The Mirror of Awareness: Cultivating Presence in Uncertain Times
Inspired by Meditation, Nature, & Community

“God is at home, it is we who’ve gone out for a walk.”  ~Meister Eckhart
Clear, awake, and loving presence is the holy ground of our being, our true home base. When we stray from it, we can always return again to this indwelling presence.  In this inspiring summer program, you will be guided to awaken to your luminous awareness, and by abiding ever more deeply in this clear loving presence, gain a deeper insight into your true nature of interbeing.
Skylike and spacious, the mirror of awareness can accommodate and wisely respond to whatever experiences life may bring, as through the lens of careful observation we recognize how each of these experiences appears and dissolves in a shimmering flow of moment-to-moment change.
In these times of uncertainty and complexity, danger, and opportunity, it is more important than ever that we learn to polish the mirror of our awareness and practice the arts and sciences of cultivating peace, clear presence, deep insight and resilience within ourselves and for our world.
In recognition of this need, Joel & Michelle Levey return to Indralaya to guide this contemplative program for awakening to the power of loving, courageous presence and peace, to increase our capacity to be the change we want to see in our world.
In a supportive environment guided by experienced teachers, along with a community of kindred spirits and the inspiring forces of Nature amid the exquisite natural beauty of Indralaya, this special program of meditation, inspiration, and celebration offers a rare opportunity to delve into timeless wisdom teachings and engage in profound practices for awakening natural awareness, embodying peaceful presence, and deepening in wisdom and wholehearted compassion. We will share a rich blend of deep reflection and deep connection with our multidimensional selves and the natural world in an exploration that is so relevant for enhancing our capacity to resiliently thrive and continually renew ourselves in these profound times.
Our days together will weave a balance of inspiring wisdom teachings, mindful dialogue, deep reflection, contemplative silence, and a variety of meditations for cultivating inner peace, insight, resourcefulness, and well-being (including mindfulness, tonglen, gratitude, embodied awareness and movement, lovingkindness, and compassion), together with ample free time opportunities for heartfelt community sharing and mindful adventures exploring the “holy book of nature.” Both experienced and novice meditators are warmly welcome and will find profoundly value and inspiration in this unique retreat.
Indralaya was founded upon the principles of “… promoting harmony among all peoples, and the comparative study of religion, philosophy, and science, so that we may better understand ourselves and our place in the universe.”  In this spirit of honoring life and integrating the inner and the outer, this program will bring together wisdom teachings from many traditions along with insights from contemporary brain science research, and timeless themes of practicing presence and non-harming. Come join us and be prepared to joyfully discover new insights, inspirations, and practices for cultivating deeper awareness, honoring your highest potential, and the profound interconnectedness of all that lives.
