Dawn Jex

Dawn Jex is a yogi/gypsy wanderer/ blue-eyed poet/artist who has been teaching yoga for 12 years. She earned her first teaching credentials at Movement Arts in Stanwood, Washington and has added over 1500 hours of varied yoga methodologies since that time. Dawn is also a massage therapist, partner stretching practitioner and playful instructor.  She believes that yoga should be accessible for every body and designs her classes to meet the needs of each and every student. She includes breath work, physical movement and extended meditation in each practice. “We work the body, to quiet the mind, so that we can then focus inward.” Dawn’s favorite class to teach is anything that takes yoga out of the box – yoga in nature and stand up paddle board yoga top the list.

Her daily practice includes elements of stretching, moving with the breath, meditation, strengthening poses, ballet and Pilates. Her practice also includes grounding in nature, counting her blessings and finding joy in simple moments.

Dawn currently lives in Anacortes and manages a successful non profit organization. She lives in a tiny home with her husband and dog.

Yoga with Dawn Jex
August 24 - 27, 2024

Yoga with Dawn Jex: Join Dawn in August of 2024 for a program focused on mindful movement. Be prepared for practice to be slow and methodical with plenty of time to listen to the body and to invite breath into each moment. The program will begin with dinner and orientation on Saturday August 24th, at 6pm, and ends with breakfast on Tuesday morning at 8am. As we age and our bodies present us with changes and challenges we have to take time to be mindful of what the body needs in each pose. A practice that is mindful is beneficial…
