Therapeutic Touch Healing Partners – Week 2

With Sally Blumenthal and Tama Recker

June 17 - 23, 2024

Healing Partners are invited to apply to Week 1, or Week 2 or both. Please apply to each week separately. After you register you will be sent a separate application to return to us.

Monday June 17 Dinner – Sunday June 23 Breakfast

Therapeutic Touch, a gentle, evidence based holistic healing modality, was first offered at Camp Indralaya in 1978. Since that time, this healing technique has become increasingly accepted in hospitals and clinics throughout North America and around the world, and a substantial base of formal and clinical research has been developed documenting its efficacy. TT has proven to be effective in a variety of applications and, perhaps more importantly, has played a significant role in broadening the array of acceptable healing modalities available to healthcare professionals as well as to anyone having the desire to help another. The intention of these Therapeutic Touch programs is to create an opportunity for transformative in-depth healing for the participants attending as well as to deepen the skill of the TT practitioners.

For over 45 years, healees/healing partners have been an integral part of the Therapeutic Touch programs at Indralaya. Without their contributions and trust these programs could not succeed. In light of this, a supportive and educational group process is designed specifically for those attending either of the June TT programs as participants addressing healing.  The treatment schedule for each week is during the morning after a group meditation at 9:30 am.

Activities and Experiences: You can apply for either Therapeutic Touch program week, or for both weeks. One can benefit equally from either program and attendees often report an increased sense of relaxation and well-being. We recommend participating in our daily comprehensive programs created for your well-being to promote and deepen your healing process.

The daily program sequence consists of: 1) Group meditation as a way to come together as whole, relax and increase the benefits from the TT treatments; 2) Daily Therapeutic Touch treatments from experienced therapists who are furthering their own study and skills; 3) Rest or nap which is highly recommended to deepen the treatment process; 4) A support group to discuss the TT treatment and illness-related experiences; and 5) Optional times to connect with one another without any agenda. Depending on how much you want to participate, this program is about 4 to 5.5 hours long each day.

Support Facilitators: Facilitators for participant groups have both Therapeutic Touch and qualified counseling experience.

Sally Blumenthal
MFT, RN (she/her) I have been loving Therapeutic Touch since the late 70’s when I first met Dee and Dora. Since then, I have used the wisdom I have been gathering with TT to start a hospice, care for many people who were dying, become a therapist, work with our HIV/AIDS community, the Trans community and am finally moving toward retirement, maybe. I just really love what I do. I will continue to share what I have learned on my journey as I am a natural storyteller. I also have a new (old) home on Orcas where I just finished…

Tama Recker
RTC-c, TTRT, QTTT (she/her) I live in Ladner, BC and care deeply about balance, wellness and healing. I’ve been a Therapeutic Touch practitioner for 24 years supporting people with chronic pain/illness, cancer, those in hospice, on grief journeys and other transitions. I teach TT locally and afar and also offer workshops: reflective writing, mindfulness, meditation, and creative courses. My counselling practice supports people around end of life and other significant life transitions and stresses. When I’m not working, you’ll find me connecting with nature and marveling at the simple things. I love coming back to connect with Indralaya where there…
